Privacy Policy

Day One · Valuation gives founders an indicative pre-seed valuation range. This page explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have. If anything here is unclear, please ask us — the contact address is at the end.
What we collect
Two things, and each only if you choose to share it:
- Your assessment. The answers you give and the valuation range we compute from them. On its own this is anonymous — it carries no name, email, or account.
- Your email address, but only if you ask us to notify you. The email field is optional; you can get your full result without ever entering it.
Why your email is linked to your assessment
When you enter your email to hear from us, we link it to the specific assessment you just completed — the answers you gave and the range we produced. We do this so the updates we send can be relevant to your stage, and so we hold a record of the consent you gave next to what it applied to. In plain terms: your email is not simply added to a mailing list — it is connected to your individual results. If that is not what you want, leave the email field blank and your assessment stays anonymous.
Why we collect it
We use your email only to send occasional product updates and news about the tool. Our lawful basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), scoped to that newsletter — we ask for it with a box you tick yourself, never pre-ticked, and we do not treat it as covering anything else.
Who is responsible
Ethix OÜ, registered in Estonia, is the data controller under the GDPR. We host your data in the EU.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for others to market to you.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and its link to your assessment for up to 24 months, after which the link is severed so the assessment can no longer be traced back to you. If you ask us to erase your data sooner, we do the same on request.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, so you can stop hearing from us at any time with one click. You can also email us at privacy@ethix.eu and we will remove you.
Your rights under the GDPR
Because your email is personal data, the GDPR gives you rights over it. You can ask us to:
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Erasure — have your email and its link to your assessment deleted.
- Portability — receive your data in a common, machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@ethix.eu and we will respond. Once you have given us your email, these rights apply — we do not claim otherwise.
